Community Guidelines
The Short Version
Be honest. Be respectful. Keep dealings on the platform where there's a record. Meet people in safe, public places. Report anything that doesn't feel right.
Be Honest
- List properties and items accurately: real photos, real prices, real availability.
- Don't create fake, duplicate, or misleading listings.
- Don't misrepresent who you are.
Be Respectful
- No harassment, threats, or discriminatory behavior toward other students, landlords, agents, or businesses.
- Disagreements happen. Keep them civil, and use the report feature rather than escalating.
Keep Dealings On-Platform
Messaging, inspection requests, and marketplace inquiries are designed to happen inside Track House so there's a record if something goes wrong. Rent, room, and inspection payments are processed through Track House itself (via Paystack). Marketplace has two paths: "Buy Now" is a real payment through Track House too, held securely until you confirm you've received the item; a seller can also still arrange a sale directly with a buyer in person, outside the app, if they prefer. Either way, the conversation and arrangement should happen here.
Stay Safe
- Meet in safe, public places for inspections and item exchanges.
- Don't send money before confirming details in person.
- Take your time with roommate arrangements. Track House doesn't verify identities or living situations beyond the account information provided.
These same reminders appear directly in the app wherever you'd be coordinating a meetup. This page isn't the only place you'll see them.
Reporting
Every property, marketplace item, roommate profile, and conversation can be reported directly from within the app. Reports go to a real review queue that administrators work through, not into a void. Include as much detail as you can; it helps.
What Happens When Guidelines Are Broken
Depending on severity, this can mean a warning, removal of the specific content, temporary suspension, or account termination. Administrators review reports individually. There's no fully automated enforcement today.
Verified Agents and Business Partners
These accounts go through an identity/document review before approval. Verified status means the account completed that review. It isn't a guarantee about any individual listing or interaction involving that account.
